Surfing Holiday Paradise!

First and foremost you cannot visit the States on a surfing holiday without heading to Cocoa Beach, Florida. The swells can serve up some pretty sweet surf but you have to be there at the right time. If your heading here in summer then chances are you’ll catch a great tan but you shouldn’t hold out much hope of catching any great waves. The winter months however will give you something different altogether. You can get swells of around 10ft in winter and the sets are a whole lot more reliable this time of year. The beach is very safe and has a great party atmosphere all year round so its perfect for beginners and those just looking to have a good time. Best surf is between November and March

Secondly, how about visiting the surf that started it all. There is a reason why everyone associates Hawaii with surfing - its home to some of the biggest and best waves this side of the galaxy and is quite frankly surf Mecca.  It’s so steeped in surfing history that you would not be blamed for grabbing some wetsuits and spending your whole time in the water, however also visiting historic sites, talking to locals about surfboards, or checking out the thousands of surfboards on sale is also recommended. Well, maybe not all of your time, you need to set some aside to witness the 20ft swells at Oahu or do some riding yourself at the stunning Ehukai and Waimea beaches. Heaven on Earth

Last but not certainly not least, no American surf holiday would be complete without experiencing the “surf city” and land of board shorts, Huntington USA.The sun never goes down on this area and its attracts top surfers like bees to honey. Some of surfing’s biggest stars hang out here a lot and you’ll be sure to catch one of the many surfing comps that take place frequently. It can become pretty manic here though, eleven millions people came to visit last year. So if you don’t like crowds then stick to the winter months, the surf is just as good.
